Rock guests have the option to participate in many unique
activities available on site in addition to various tours
of the culturally rich surrounding attractions. Our excellent
guides are eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for
the natural and historical offerings of this spectacular location.
On Site Activities:
Black
Rock's magnificent rainforest location on the banks of the
Macal River in the Maya Mountains enables our guests to experience
the best in outdoor activities and adventures. Black Rock
activities vary from thrilling, high adventure options to
tranquil and accessible choices. Activities include horseback
riding, canoeing,
tubing, hiking,
birding, mountain biking,
swimming, night
hiking, and caving.
Tours:
In addition to Black Rock on site activities, we also offer
guided expeditions to the splendid Mayan ruin sites of Caracol,
Tikal, Xunantunich,
El Pilar and Yaxha. Plus excursions such as the Actun
Cave (ATM), Inland Blue Hole,
Mountain_Pine_Ridge,
River Cave Tubing, Canopy zip-lining, Community Baboon Sanctuary,
Belize Zoo, Barton Creek Cave, Che Chem Ha Cave, and the Guanacaste
National Park. These fun and immersive tours provide guests
with an in-depth introduction to the culture and history of
the region.
Birding:
Black Rock's 242 acre location along the
banks of the Macal River, with over 1100 feet of elevation change from the Macal River to the various mountain peaks and
canyon ridges, lends itself to viewing nearly 300 species of spectacular resident and migratory birds. The diversity of the
Lodge’s geological and habitat surroundings affords guests the ability to easily see a vast variety of both common and extremely
rare species.
Yoga & Conferences:
The Lodge’s newly constructed 25’ x 40’ Yoga/Conference palapa is a spectacular place to enjoy your own yoga practice
during your stay, participate in one of the many yoga retreats hosted by the Lodge, or to host your own company or group’s
conference/retreat.
