This photo was taken from the Bird Deck!
The location is only a couple yards
upstream from Black Rock Falls.
This is the way the river looks most of the year!
Clear, green, and very inviting...
Flour Camp Cave is so named due to its location.
It is about 600 feet above Flour Landing.
Flour Landing is an historical location where dories
(canoe hand-dug out of a solid log)
would unload supplies for the loggers in the area.
Rice, beans, flour etc...

We visit Flour Camp Cave via horse back!
There is no shortage of Mayan artefacts scattered about the floors of the caverns!
Watch your head!
All our cabanas have excellent views of
Black Rock Canyon, cliffs, the Macal River,
and surrounding jungle and mountains!

Deluxe Cabanas are the largest and
most nicely appointed of all the cabanas we offer.
With a spacious interior, two queen size beds,
a hardwood writing desk, fan, and a large
clean bathroom complete with hardwood cabinetry,
Deluxe Cabanas are comfortable, romantic, private,
and as luxurious as it gets in the jungles of Belize!

River-View Cabanas are similar to Deluxe Cabanas
in that they have an indoor flush toilet and hot shower.
They have a queen size bed and a double bed.
River-View Cabanas, like Deluxe Cabanas,
are comfortable and private.

Over the years, we have done away with the Shared Bath Cabanas.
At this point we have only one left. It is called a Shared Bath Cabana for two reasons:
(1) instead of a flush toilet it has an eco-outhouse toilet and
(2) it's a short walk, about 60 yards, to the shower (solar heated water).

This is the interior of one of our Deluxe Cabanas!
Very comfortable, private, and spacious!
Breakfast is one of my favourite meals of the day!
Of course, Lunch and Dinner are great too! Call me anything you want, but not "late-for-dinner"!

Fresh, home grown Papaya sprinkled with coarse Belizean Brown Sugar and sprayed with lime juice!
If you haven't tried it, you haven't lived life yet!
This tree is just up from the lodge
on the trail to the Summit.

Even though this is not a Sapodilla Tree,
Chicleros routinely climbed trees this big, and bigger,
to tap the cambian layer for the gummy sap
which was the base for chewing gum prior to the
discovery of a synthetic base.
Ever heard of "Chiclets"?
They got there name from the Mayan word "Chicle".
Hence, the guys who'd tap the trees,
were called "Chicleros"!

Thanks for visiting our site...and we hope to see you at our lodge soon!
